I'd recommend removing the bolt on the right of the air filter box before you touch the EGR valve. You can then lift the airbox out of the way which will allow you slightly easier access to the EGR valve with your ratchet. You need a 10mm spanner or socket for both this bolt and the three bolts that hold in the valve.
Is the 1.9 CDTI the same as the 1.7 in terms of EGR blanking options: 1) Blanking plate with small hole in (Reduces carbon build up but allows gas to pass so MAP and MAF sensor calculation detect it's working). 2) 'Map it out', remap the car where the EGR operation is set so low that it never actually opens.
Remove the EGR valve from the Corsa. Wash the EGR valve with carburetor cleaner. Make sure that the valve is clean of gunk and let it dry. Reinstall the valve. Don't replace it. Highly unlikely it needs replacing. Remove the water bottle, remove the fuel filter housing. Undo 3 torx to move Air/boost pipe to inlet. Now you will see the egr solenoid. Remove that with 3 torx also. If the pin can move easily on the solenoid then it doesn't need replacing. KnqM51.
