Main difference was M57 had an iron block, N57 is an alloy block and so lighter. On top of that the differences were mainly improvements over the M57 for lower emissions and Euro 5 compliance I think. Thanks - so M57 information should work for the N57 in alot of areas. __________________. Jules.

The E60's acceleration was definitely more fierce, aggressive and in-your-face. Fact is, for pure driving pleasure, a 25 lakh rupee used E60 530d is better than a new 50+ lakh F10 530d (though the latter is way easier to live with)

The only difference between the two cars is the twin turbo on the 535. Both have 3.0L engines. The difference in 0-60 times is about 0.2 secs. I went for the 530D M Sport as it was slightly more economical than the 535 and it only had one turbo to fix if it went wrong.
